J518 Repair Car Steering Wheel Lock Simulator J518 ELV EIS N360 Steer Column Emulator for Au-di A6 Q7 C6 V-W Touareg Phaeton
518 emulator functions:
1. starts the vehicle. Module failure is a common problem for Audi A6/S6 2005-2011 and Q7 2007-2015 model vehicles. Module problem is typically identified by no response from key in the ignition, or proximity access (Start button). The Start / Stop Authorization Module (along with the Electronic Ignition Switch) is responsible for key/transponder recognition, unlocking/locking of steering wheel and powering up all modules in the vehicle. If there is problem related to any of the lock module moving/wear components (actuator motor, sensing micro switches, relay) or the integrated Immobilizer system Microprocessor/PCB, the module will not power relays to enable ignition on or engine start. Wear and tear component related failure will store a fault/DTC “00288 – Steering Column Lock Actuator (N360) – Defective”.'
2. The J518 emulator . The advantage are Universal solution, three types MCU all can replaced by this emulator. By dealer standard, the Module itself can't be purchased separately, which means that the dealer will want to replace the entire steering column along with the Start / Stop Authorization Steering Lock Module. The dealer cost to replace is roughly $1600-1800 (depending on manual vs electric height adjustment) for parts and $1000+ labor, including the need for Immobilizer coding with Audi online servers.
3. No additional coding or dealer visit is required upon reinstall. Please let us know if you have diagnosed the module with another problem/fault (outside of the typical wear related fault resulting in “288” – Steering Lock Defective Fault code) : * module has previously been opened, tampered or repair attempt carried out * module (internal PCB) is physically or water damaged * KEY IS STUCK IN THE IGNITION * vehicle is newer than 2009+ (likely to have a non wear related module problem) Module may need additional repairs and identity coding (and online coding due to Microprocessor damage and identity loss).

Note before order:
1. The emulator without lock or on lock function, if need the same function as the original J518 Module, please buy the J518 Replacement
2. The WDI PROG dedicated programming cable connector here is only for programming the emulator board, not for original J518 PCB board.
3.so if you have a car which need replace the J518 module with this emulator, you need read out the data in the MCU by soldering wire or other methods, then write the data into the emulator MCU via this dedicated cable connector.
